Rosie Oats is a bright and welcoming café tucked into the corner of Princes Highway and Balmoral Road in Burrill Lake. It’s the sort of spot that naturally draws in a mix of locals and visitors, especially those looking for a casual breakfast or lunch with a view of the water nearby. The café’s outdoor seating area is a standout feature — open-air tables provide a laid-back atmosphere where you can watch the day unfold, whether it’s a weekday morning coffee run or a weekend brunch with family.

Coffee here holds its ground nicely, with a cappuccino frequently highlighted by regulars as a satisfying, balanced option. The menu leans into approachable, comforting fare ranging from breakfast staples like scrambled eggs on organic sourdough to heartier lunch choices such as the toasted Reuben or the house cheese burger. The granola and coconut bread options add a bit of homemade charm to the lineup, perfect for those wanting a lighter or sweeter bite.

This is not a place for rushed dining but rather a relaxed stop where locals often linger, catching up over good coffee or a nourishing bowl. Families find it convenient and welcoming, with a casual environment that welcomes pups and kids alike. That said, the weekend can be a bit busier with a noticeable surcharge, making a weekday visit more appealing for those mindful of budget.

Staff play a big role in the café’s easygoing vibe — attentive and friendly without feeling hurried, they’re familiar with the regulars and happy to offer menu recommendations. Occasionally, menu changes happen with limited notice (like the substitution of potato crisps for waffle fries), so it’s best to check in if you’re ordering specific items.

All told, Rosie Oats suits anyone wanting a peaceful spot to enjoy simple, well-made café food and solid coffee alongside Burrill Lake’s water views. Early mornings on a quiet weekday or a sunny afternoon sitting outside watching the local scene pass by are ideal times to soak in the café’s unpretentious charm.

Great little cafe with delicious food & great atmosphere. The only feedback would be to ensure any changes to menu are communicated when someone orders. We ordered the beef burger which on the menu comes with waffle fries. We ordered this for our son to eat but when it came out, we were given a handful of potato crisps. When I asked they said they were out of waffle fries, so I had to order him something else. Not the end of the world but just really frustrating as we had to wait for his new purchase food to come out.

Lovely coffee place. Noted 10% surcharge on weekend. Got 4 large coffee and coconut bread $31 a bit pricey. Bread was delicious never had something like that. Will definitely come back to try the menu

We always come here. Practically live here. The food is always amazing. The view. That's all well and good. But the staff. The staff are what makes it. They are amazing.

Very nice sitting here in the open air admiring the views. We are staying at the caravan park and a nice walk to have coffee. Service was good.

Rosie Oats, tucked away in the far corner of tiny Burrill Lake shopping centre, should be recognised as a cafe icon of the Sapphire Coast. Offering a menu of deliciousness from small eats through, he chose the rich and sumptuous eggplant sub. I was carried away with the sourdough steak sandwich and it's tangy horseradish sauce. And our friend, a relish fiend, downed a very hearty big bang bagel. All topped off with great coffee and fun and friendly service. Thank you Charlie - you made our experience at Rosie Oats great.
